"At a shooting party at Gcraldine for the Patriotic Fund a stray pellet from one of tho guns struck Mr A. J. Burrows in tho right eye, going through his spectacles, the eyeball, and lodging in the bono at tho back. He was taken to the Timaru Hospital, whc<-o tho eye and the glass and tho pellet wore taken out. He is going on as well as can be expected.
(PHESS ASSOCIATION* TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, Jun.e 7. Henry Johnson, a married man, was killed instantly by the collapse of a derrick used for transferring cement from the steamer Mahurangia to the steamer Westralia.
