Cr. Ford, who is chairman of the Fire Committee of the R.iccarton Borough Council, and was also sent by the Kiccarton Council to represent them at the late conference in connexion with the extension of the fire area, had a complaint to make at last night's meeting of the Kiccarton Borough Council. He pointed out that a most comprehensive Teport, covering the areas to be included and the cost of that servicc. was prepared, and he thought that the public should have learned tha details of that scheme through the Fire Board or conference of delegates discussing it. But what was the surprise of those interested to find the information which they sought and expected to find at the earliest opportunitv made public bv the Mayor, who war, also chainnan of the Fire Beard.
