SHAKESPEARE TERCENTENARY.

CELEBRATIONS IN ENGLAND. (By Cable.—Press Association. —Copyright.) LONDON, April 14. Preparations have been completed for the celebration of the tercentenary of Shakespeare in the Anglo-Saxon centres throughout the world. They commence in Britain on April 30th, with a service at Westminster Abbey, at which there will be preached a Shakespeare sermon. A Mansion House meeting will be held on the Monday, and an "all-war" performance of "Julius Caesar* will take place at Drury Lane Theatre on Tuesday. The schools will celebrate the poet's birth on Wednesday, and Friday will be devoted to a pilgrimage to Stratford-on-Avon. The celebration terminates with a meeting at tho London University. The lit. Hon. A. Birroll, M.P., will give an address at the Authors' Club on May Btli. The war has rendered it impossible to find funds for the proposed Shakespeare ' ■ Memorial Theatre near the British t Museum, for which £70,000 was sub- ;' scribed, and the site has been given I] over, to entertainment huts for soldiers. !:
