BANKS PENINSULA RABBIT BOARD.

QUARTERLY MEETING

A meeting of the Banks Peninsula Ilabbit Board was .held at the office, Cashel street, Christchurch. on Wednesday. Present—Messrs H>. T. Chapman (chairman), J. Parkinson, H. A. Nutt, and W. C. Fleming.

It was doeided to sue for all outstanding rates.

Regarding the matter of leaving gates open, the Board decided to draw attention to tlie £10 reward offered to anyone reporting the practice.

The inspector reported as follows: — "During the past quarter i inspected Port Levy. Purau, Chartoris Hay, Teddington, Gobble's Valley, and part of Kaituna. In Port Levy, 011 Mr Williams's. I put up one. killing it ; saw a lew signs on Maori Hill, also at the Maori cemetery; on Mr 11. J. Fleming's put up three, killing one. and saw a fair amount- of signs on Messrs Steel's and Iticbard Fleming's; oil James Fleming's saw two rabbits and a few signs; also one on Mr B. Whare's; saw signs on Mr L. M. Wilson's, killing two; and a fair amount of signs r>n Messrs Gardiner and Jackson's, killing five in Camp Ua.v. "In Purau I killed one on Mr L. C. Gardiner's, and two at Diamond Harbour; on Mr H. Gardiner's saw a few signs, but put no rabbits up. Killed one on Mr 0. Bradley's, and saw several signs on a rocky facing there; 011 Anderson's Point I put up one and saw several signs there. On Mr T. Blntrhford's I killed one: not many sitrns there. On Mr L. Wilson's T saw nine, shot two, and laid poison there; saw six on Mr W. A. Gray's, several S'. r r»s there; 011 Mrs C'oop's saw three, killing one; saw a fair amouot of signs round the gorse there. On Messrs Gebbio Bros.' place I shot jive; there are stiil a few there in various places. On Mr J. C. G. Gehbie's and Mr M. Cooney's f kiile.d one on each, two on. Mr 11. A. Xutt.'s. and one on Mr .T. Semite's, joining Mr B. Ouoko's

"In Kaituna. on Sirs Walsh's, I killed five and si's small 011 01-: and one on Sir T. Harris's, and nut up several 011 Mr W. Tape's, finding a fair amount 01" signs there. I. put up one on Sir A. Hulston's and saw several signs there; also put up one on Sir .1. Parkinson's, joining Sir Hulston's. On Waitangi I found it fairly free, except in one place ealled Boar's Flat.. where I killed one. but there are several in there. On Willesden T killed two. putting un two others. T saw the manager, and we arranged to put poison down. On Mrs U. Birdliiig's I killed five, putting up several others. She is putting on a man to try to destroy them." "I hen: to report bavins: clearer! gor«e along tho fence and killingJnside the fence some 51 rabbits last three months, also having attended to several of the gates and the fence in two places all of which are now 111 fan order.'
