Autumn Meeting closc to-morrow. Nominations for the Woodvillo T>istrict Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting closc this evening. Nominations for the "New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's February Meeting close at 8 o'clock this cvening. The tax on the turnover at the Forbury Park Trotting Club's Meeting on Thursday and Saturday amounted to £'.503 13s (3d. Ij. Wilson, who will arrive at Iliccarton in time for the C.J.C. Meeting next Saturday, will remain m the South until after the Dunedin Cup Meeting next month. Bon Patch, the winner of the Musselburgh Handicap at Forbury Park on Saturday, is an Amcrican-brcd colt, but though ho was sired in the United States he was foaled in New Zealand. Tho n five-year-old Maniapoto—La Jesse gelding Nganoto, broke his back through falling in the Orcwa Hurdle Handicap at Takapuna on Saturday, but his rider, L. Traill, escaped serious injury. Owners and trainers interested in light-harness racing are reminded that nominations Ifor the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's February Meeting close with Mr Rattray this evening at 8 o'clock. In the absence of Our Thorpe, the Royal Handicap at Forbury Park on Saturday was reduced to a match between Emmeline and Eccentric. Emmelinc did not begin -well, and Eccentric, getting away smartly, led all the way and won easily by three lengths. R. Berry's pair, Ringform and Kent Loch, have arrived at l&iccarton. The former will be a runner at tho C:J.C. Meeting next Saturday, and tho latter, who has completed a season at the stud, is being knocked into shape in view of meetings further ahead. On Soturdav morning at Riecarton, the Calibre gelding Bore (R. McSeveny) was sent over two of the pony hurdles. He ran about a little, and then encompassed a round over the big fences. His jumping was not too clean at first, but he improved at the last couple of hurdles. The Porirua-trained two-year-olds, Kilboy, by Kilbroney—Cyre, and Kilbrogan, by Kilbroney—Showana, are to be sent to Hawera to carry the colours of their breeder, -Mr J. B. Reid, in the Egmont -Stakes, six furlongs, to be run on "Wednesday next. So far' two-year-olds have not played a prominent part in the decision of the race. B. .Deeley increased his lead for the jockey premiership by steeling two. winners at Takapuna on Saturday. His nearest- rival, J. O'Sliea, failed to gain winning brackets. During the rac-o for the Ferry Handicap Deeley's mount, Summer Hose, and Pre-eminent (Garment) fell, but neither horseman was much the worse for the experience. Deeley rode again in the next race. Our Thorpe's visit to Dunedin last | week proved very unfortunate. He was being sent out to give an exhibij tion over a mile, but after going a ! couple of furlongs he shied at the ! shadow tlnown on the track by tiie starter's post, and fell heavily, throwing a complete somersault. He was rather badJj- knocked about and shaken and was in consequence unable to start in the Royal Handicap later on in the day. Hie driver, A. Fleming, escaped with a few _ bruises. Sartolera, Sarto —\ entalera, bred-at "Warrington, Otago. won the principal event at the Tasmanian Amateur Jockey Club's Meeting on the 19thinst. Svlvandale's fall on the second day of the Foxton Meeting was considered to have been caused by J. McLean (rider of Florist) cutting across the field at tho start of the race. "W. Price (rider of Sylvandale) received injuries to his head, which necessitated some attention, and J. McLean's license has been cancelled for three months for careless riding. The track at Forbury Park on Saturday was very fast, and. as the weather conditions were ideal, there being practically no wind, there were some very smart performances registered. The best was that put up by Don Caesar in the Forbury Handicap, and in getting to the end of the two miles in 4min '23 3-osec the Prince Imperial gelding established an Australasian racerccord for the distance. 'Hie previous best was Kmineline's 4min "'Oscc, which she established at Forbury Park in May, 191'J, Our I'horpo equalling that time m the New' Brighton Cup last month. »
