LIXWOOD CLUB. At tho last • meeting- of the committee of tho Linwood Amateur Swimming . Club there were presentMeeers H. J. Bowlker (chairman), G. Phillip C B Phillip, D. Coulter. C. L. Ardley, W;' Jo'nea' J. Wilson, T. Keighley, S. A. Smith, and h! I\. MatUiews. Mr C. Johnston was' ©lecteo hon. secretary in plaoa of the retiring secretary, Mr H. R. Matthews, who has enlisted lor active service. . During the evening Mr H. J. Bqwlker} on behalf of the committee, nreceiited Messrs C. Li. Ardley and C. B. I'hi'.lip. on their departure for Trentham, with a pipe each as a small token of csto;m from their fellow Inember*. The chairman expressed regret in losing their valuable service, and wished I hem both every success and a safe return. Meeers C. J. Bowlker and H. Le Page >rcre elected to fill the vacancies on <th« committee. Several new members .were elected. ' A letter from Mr AY. H. Seed declining the position of vice-prcsident of the club, was iccer.ted with regret. •
