COUNTY COUNCILS.
RANGIOBA. The Puingiora County Coimcil met on Friday evening. ■ Present: Messrs E. Horrell (chairman), M. H. Stokes A. Mcintosh, W: Stalker, and H..Tallott. The Minister of "Internal Affairs wrote stating that the . .distinguishing letter It.G. had been assigned to the Council for the registration of motor-cars and motor-cycles, and the numerals 1 to 500. The Council agreed to a proposed rood through a subdivision _ of Jlr J. Waller's property on.Mr "Waller signing an undertaking to form and shingle the road to the satisfaction of the Council when callcd iipon to do so. Mr D: Jtamsay wrote, asking the Council to transfer of Heserve 1380 to Mr'-J. Waller. It was dccided that the chairman and Mr Stalker inspect the reserve, and report. Iho clerk reported having, _in company with Mr J. Forbes, chair man of the Cust Domain Board, chained the frontage of tho Domain, and found the boundary fences were not .in their proper positions. The dog registration fees .wore fixed at 2s fkl for sheep dogs,' tho property of bona fido farmers and drovers, and 10s for all others. • On the motion of Mr A. TaHott, Mr W. J. T. Doggett was appointed dog ranger for the Rangiora. Riding, and Mr T>. Hnwat for the Cust Riding. Mr F. Fitzsimmons was granted permission to plough a road fronting his property. It was decided to write to the Minisbirds' eggs and heads after February Ist. The clerk was instructed to add 10 per cent, to all rates not paid by February 'I.lth. Jt was decided to frite to the Minister of Dofencc. asking him to have newspapers supplied with more 'complete and definite information regarding the arrival of returned soldiers, in time to permit of arrangements being made .to welcome them home.
The receipts for t.he month were £372 12s 4d. and the bank debit balance £2260 14s Id.
