WELLINGTON'S CHINESE QUARTER.
(rEESS ASSOCIATION" TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, January 14. The usual quiet of Haining street ■was disturbed to-night by a police raid on three houses, wherein, it is alleged, pakapoo was being played. Five Europeans and six Chinese were arrested. Besides charges of gaming and keeping gaming-houses, the Chinese are accused of being found in possession of opium.
