CANTERBURY CENTRE. The committee of the Canterbury Centre of the Life Saving Society met laat night, Mr B. S. Knox presiding. Donations were received as follows: —A. "W. Huthertord £5 se, H. L. Bowker ill 1 8 > and J. J. Dougall £1 ]s. An application for affiliation waa received from the .Taylor's Mistake Life Saving Society which, it was Btatcd, expected to have a Membership of 50. The application was granted. Messrs Batsett and Billson were aopointed the Centre's delegates to confer with the delegates from th? Swimming Centre, relative to the Sir John Hall Shield CompetiMr BiLlflon said it was proposed to alter the conditions in the direction of briusini* them into line with the Proficiency Certificate examination, ho that competitors who aid not win the shield could qualify for ccrtifWtcs.
