TRAMWAY EMPLOYEES' UNION.
General meetings of the Christchurch Tramway Employees' Union wore held at the Trades Hall on Tuesday, Mr J. "Wilson, president in the chair. A circular was' received from the United Federation of Labour inviting the union to send a delegate to the conference which is being held at "Wellington on January 25th to discuss the question of conscription and the attitude of labour thereto.
It was resolved, on the combined vote of both meetings, by 83 votes to 21, to send a delegate to'the conference. It was decided to take a plebiscite vote of all the members of the union for the election of the- delegate. Messrs J. Wilson and E. Crespm were nominated for the position, and Messrs E. Snow and H. Gomm were appointed as the scrutineers to conduct the ballot.
