SHORTAGE OF SHIPPING.
MERCHANTS GETTING ANXIOUS. (tress association telegram.) WELLINGTON, January 13. The shortage of shipping, space is affecting mercantile circles. There is no trouble concerning, insulated space, and arrangements made with the Imperial authorities', appear to ensure that meat, cheese, and butter will continue to get away promptly, but shippers of wool, hemp, and liides are finding difficulty in securinjg space, and the outlook is net bright. The shortage of shipping, due largely to the commandeering of many hundreds of vessels by the Admiralty and the War Office, is being felt all over the Empire, and advices received in commercial circles here indicate that the matter has been receiving anxious consideration in London.
