EQUIPPING HOSPITALS FOR SOLDIERS.
"THE OBVIOUS DUTY OF THE GOVERNMENT." (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGBAIT.) AUCKLAND, January 13. The .request of the Hon. G. "\V. Russell for assistance from Patriotic Associations in equipping hospitals and convalescent homes for returned soldiers, has resulted in the Auckland Association carrying the following motion:— "That this Association cannot see its way to accede to tho request. This Association is of the unanimous opinion that the appropriation of patriotic funds to be administered for the general purposes of the Government in the provision of hospital equipment, would ho undesirable, ifc being the obvious duty of the Government in tins connexion to provide what is ncccssnrv for the comfort those invalided and continuing under its care."
