BELGIUM RELIEF FUND.

MEAT DISTRIBUTED FROM LONDON. 7 The first annual report of the Smithfield Markets Belgium Kelief Fund, of which Mr H. S. Fitter is chairman, is published in the "Meat Trades Journal," and shows that weekly collections of meat have been made, and the committee has been able., to satisfy all demands made upon them. The amount distributed was as follows:—Market collecting and meat purchased, 76,4751b; Argentine and Uruguay, 240,3271b; Sydney consignments, 5291b, and sixty-six quarters of chilled beef had been sold, as cold storage accommodation could not be found, and the stock of meat on hand was 47,9681b. The cash receipts had been £527 19s 4d, and the amoftnt on deposit and cash at bank totalled £3G9 Is. The committee appeals for furter contributions of meat to enable them to continue their good work. THE BELGIUM FUND. TO THE EDITOR OF "THE FEES*-** Sir, —Ever since the beginning of the war I have been going without sugar in my tea and giving the money to the Belgians. It amounted to ten or twelve shillings for them, and a little for the Bed Cross Fund, and now it has been taken for something else. I do not know what it has been taken for, but if it is not going to be given to the Belgians, please will you send it back ,to me and I will send it to them myself; but if you cannot' get it for me will you write to me and tell me the name of a person who can.—Youre, etc., EDITH WALL. The disposition of the moneys contributed to the Belgium Fund is obviously a question involving something more than the rights of the executive of the Fund.
