CHRISTCHURCH DIOCESAN COUNCIL. The fifth half-yearly meeting of the Christchurch Diocesan Council of the New Zealand Catholic Federation was held yesterday, in the Federation Rooms, Wiltshire Buildings. Present — The President, the Very Rev. Dr. Kennedy (Methven), Rev. Father Kerley (Temuka), Rev. Father O'Connor (Hawarden), and the following branch delegates:—Messrs W. Hayward, juu. (vice-president) and J. R. Hayward (secretary): St. Marv's (Christchurch North), Messrs E. j" P. Wall and J. J. O'Gormau; Timaru. Dr. Loughnan (vice-president) and Mr J. B. Leigh (secretary) ; Darfield, Mr F. Narbey and Mr P. Morrison; Rangiora. Messrs SH. Ryan (secretary) and M. Fitzgibbon; Temuka, Rev. Father Kerley, S.M.; Pleasant Point, Mr M. J. Friel; Rakaia, Mr J. J. Duncan; Methven, Rev. Dr.- Kennedy; Lincolu, Messrs J. A. Henley (secretary), and P. F. Ryan; Hawarden. Mrs P. Burke (secretary); Little River, Miss M. C. Cassitly (secretary). The Rev. Fatlier Kerlev acted as proxy for Waimate, ftlorven, and Makikihi branches; Dr. Loughnan for Fairlie, and Mr J. P. Leigh for St. Androv.s branch.

Mr E. H. C. Williamson and the diocesan secretary of the Executive Committee were also present. The Rev. Father Graham, rector of St. Bede's College, delivered an ad- , 9 S . S . ( rt?
