Merrett and Co. had a entry oi poultry ior their first Christmas sale, there being over 2000 birds entered. Prices were remarkably good. Table chickens were in sn .undid demand, one choice liuo realising 10s 2d per pair. The. egg market is firm, last week's prices being maintained. Table chickens realised 5s Gd to 10s 2d, ducklings 3s to 8s Od, ducKs 4s to' 7 s, liens 2s Gd to 4s lOd, pullets 3s to 8s Gd, goslings Gs to 10s, geese 5s to Bs, all per pair. There was an entry of -j'J horses, and a large attendance. The feature of tho sale was a consignment of thrcc-year-old unbroken draughts, sold on account of Mr John Grigg, Lorigbcach. These were a splendid lino of horses, and in F ?'. te dry weather, etc., competition was exceedingly keen, the eleven horses being disposed of at an average of —24 3. >5 per head, the highest price being £38.
