Frank Williams, 77 Lin wood avenue, Christchurch, clcrk, Mounted. RECRUITING AT TIMARU. VERY BACKWARD. (special to "thi press.") TIMARU, December 3. Recruiting is in a very backward state at Timaru, there being at present a shortage of 72 men for the Eleventh Reinforcements, which aro due to leave for camp on December loth. A week ago the shortage was only 62, but during tho week several men who had previously promised to go have withdrawn.
Dr. McNab, who spoko at Temuka on Wednesday night and at Pleasant Point on Thursday night, was very pleased with his meetings, both beinc well-at-tended and enthusiastic. Dr. McNab went to Dunedin yesterday. On his return north he will address a public meeting at Waimate.
