NOTES AND MEMORANDA.
Members of the Canterbury Automobile Association who havo received a summons lor exceeding the speed limit at the intersection of Montreal street and Oxford terrace, are requested to send their names immediately to the secretary, Mr C. \Y. Hervey. The quarterly summoned" meeting of the Christchurch branch of the Amalgamated Carpenters and Joiners will bo held on Monday evening next at the Trades' Hall. After the election ofofficers, the question of conscription will be considered. Captain C. H. Matthews, N.Z.G.A., and late Adjutant Samoan Relief Force, is now completing arrangements to establish here a school of military training. The idea is to provido a short but complete course of training for men prior to their going into camp, | so as to enable them to qualify for i positions as non-commissioned officers. '
