DOCTORS AND FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.
(PRZSS ASSOCIATION* TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, December 3. The Hon. J. Hanan, in response to a request, by a Friendly Societies' deputation, promised to bring under the notice of tho Minister of Stamps a -request that tho Friendly Societies be exempt from stamp duty on receipts in regard to tho fees charged by the 'Friendly Society doctors. The ileputation expressed the fear that tli£ Wellington movement for increased fees would extend to Auckland. Tho chairman expressed tho opinion that tho only solution of the difficulty would be the nationalisation of tho medical profession. The Minister promised to look into the representations.
