MASQUERADING IN THE KINGS UNIFORM.

A young married man, Mei vyn Barnard, was arrested at Pukokohe on Tuesday morning wearing' the King s uniform, which ho admitted he was not entitled to wear. He was working on tho railway at \\aiuku, having been discharged lroin Trentham last December, and kept the uniform. He used to leave work periodically and ma&querade in Pukckohe and adjoining township.-; as a returned soldier, being made th© subject -oi hero worship and ranch ''treating" at the hotel. Mr F. V. Frailer, S.M., stated that such conduct as that at. this time was scan~ dalous, and would have to be severely penalised. Bernard whr prohibited and sentenced to three weeks' hard labour.
