MEDICAL EXAMINATION".

Several applicants lor service with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force wero medically examined at the King Edward Barracks last night. The only incident of noto was that of a man who calmly informed tho recruiting officers that he wished t'> bo examined prior to proceeding to Australia to enlist. H e was told that this would bo of no avail, us he would liavo to bo examined again in Australia. 110 replied that ho wished to be examined hero in order to ascertain whether it would bo worth his while going .across. H-j was advised to go anil bo privately examined, as tho country was not going to be put to the expense. This logic did not appear to appeal to him at all, however. Tho Citizens' Befenco Corps Bureau headquarters and recruiting bureau will On Monday be transferred to new offices in Hereford street, opposite tho Tourist Bureau. Largo and commodious rooms will bo suitably furnished, and returned soldiers aro invited to make freo us© of them. Returned soldiers desiring free passes of the tramways can obtain them on making application at the bureau.
