Mr Hughes states that the wholesale price of sugar in the various ceotres ha*. heen ti*"ed t as follow •*: —Brisbane aad Sydney, £2-3 10s; Melbourne. £25 12s 6d; Adelaide, £2-5 17s Gd; Perth, £26. The arrangements for distribution have been left to the Colonial Sugar Company. The retail price in all the States is now 3d per pound, which is very unlikely to yield any nrofit outside Brisbane, Melbourne, or Sydney.
