ORDINARY MEETING

Tin. committee, had accepted the offer of tho Hcatlicotc County Council ot the 5 per cent, debentures issued in connexion with its Valley Hiding loans. Ihe committer had decided to accede to the request of the Svdenham Burgesses' A-ffocia-tion that tbe Law-on etreet stop ahould bo eliminated, a-nd that, instead, all cars from Cashmere elionld etdp at tbe south side of Gladstone, street, and Opawa and St. Martin's cars should stop on the east 6ide of Colombo street. Sixteen accidents during the month of .Tune -were reported, but in no ca_e was th? Board's employee, considered to be blameworthy. To assist the New Brighton Council to cope with the sand drift nuisance, thc committee had acceded to its request for a grant of £ for £ up to £50, to be- spent in P-antinc* "marram gross and in erecting brush barricade*. Thc committee accepted the tende*- of Messrs Head find W<*bb for £218 for addition* to th* pow«r station. The commit!-**- acknowledged the good work done by the general manager, who acted as returning officer. It was derided to lend the Board's roller to th** Domain Board for three or foTtr day*. for the purpose of inmroving the ladies' hockey grounds in the North Park. In connexion with tbe alterations in the Lawson street stop, it was decided, on ihe motion of Mr Dw-rey. to eliminate the Elgin street si-op.
