Tho restarting of the work would be the moans of providing- employment for a number 'of married men with families. The conference also resolved to ask the Sumner Borough Council and thc Woolston Borough Council to consider the advisability of making a further contribution towards the work, provided the Government would subsidise the amounts and that the_• money contributed .by those two bodies wv.? spent in improving the road- on the Sumner side.
