Router's correspondent states that iv the British offensive at Hoogo and Festubert tlie mon flung themselves forward with irresistible dash and cither shot or bayoneted the opposing Germans. .\fter a lull of some hours tho engagement was resumed. 'On the 16th moro substantial progress was made at Hoogo. A German counter-attack was made from the north of Lake Bellewarde. but under our fire the Germans retreated, leaving many dead. Our casualties were light.
