A Toronto message says that the search for Steffans.on, the missing Arctic explorer, was without result. The New South "Wales Government has pranted a contract to Norton, Griffiths and Co., for the construction of a large number of public works, involving an expenditure of £10,000,000, with interest at o per cent. A number of the firm's civil engineers have already arrived in Sydney.
