INTIMIDATING PASSENGERS.
A NEW YORK SENSATION. (Received May 2nd. 5.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, Ma*-1. Fifty anonymous telegrams were received by wealthy Americans aboard the Lusitania when the vessel was on the point of sailing, warning them that the liner would be torpedoed. Relatives of the passengers besieged them, begging them to abandon the voyage. The majority, however, stayed on board. Foreigners round the docks passed the word: "Death accompanies the Lusitania-*on this voyage," creating almost a panic.
