GERMAN LINER CAPTURED.
LONDON, April 30. ■ It is officially stated that a British cruiser has captured the steamer Macedonia. On March 17th Las Palmas reported that the interned Hamburg-Araenka liner Macedonia had slipped out from the inner harbour during the temporary absence of the guard-ship, despite tho removal of parts of her machinery. It was believed then that she was using her wireless to attract German com-merce-destroyers, in order to deliver war stores, which she had on board. Tho Macedonia —not to be confused with tho P. and O. liner of that name— is a. cargo steamer of 4312 tons gross register, built iv 1900 by Messrs C. S. Swan and Hunter, 'Ltd., at Newcastle-on-Tyne.
