The- official list of Australians killed at the Dnnlaaelle» gives tbo following:— Lieutenant Close (New South AVales). Captain Hodgson, and Lieutenants Henderson ami Chapman (Victoria). Thirteen tucu belonging to various States. (By Cable.— Yteu Association.— Copyright.) MELHOURXE. May 1. Tho Casualty list in connexion with tho Dardanelles operations has been received. It contains the, names of twenty-two officers (which, however, havp not yefc been made public) of the Australian Thin! Brigade. Most of them are in hospital at the bases. It is feared that the Australian casualties are heavy. Th'\ details so far received indicate a fairly high total of killed and wounded. Nearly all belong to the Third, or combined. Brigade. Xo lists of casualties in the rank and file have yet been received. MELBOURXK, May 2. The official list of Dardanelles casualties contains the following:— DANGEROUSLY WOUNDED. Hawley. Major Elliot; Captains Fisher, Mime. Jackson. Lieuts. Spargo, Hoighway, "Walker, and Evans. SLIGHTLY "WOUXDED. Lieut-Colonel Elliott, Majors Dawson, Btozard and Robertson, Captain Peck, Lieuts. Kcrshaw. Phillips. Gilniour, Chambers, Jones, Macdonald, Holland, and Jorgcnsen. • No list of casualties among rank and file lias yet been received. Major D/an'son is a famous rifle-shot. Ho was a King's prize-winner. Though much suppressed anxiety is felt regarding the total casualty lists, people recognise, as Mr Pearco points out, that no dosiro of news must interfere with tho safety of the troops, who are lighting for their lives. Units are separated, and even commanding officers are not aware of tho full lists of casualties. Several days may clapso before they have time to make them tip. (Received May 3rd, 12.10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, May 2. It is officially stated that tho following additional Australian officers were wounded at the Dardanelles: — Captains F. Lockhart, Tulloch, Herbert.

Lieutenants Champion, Steen, McFariane. Anderson, Prisk, Riddell, Rogers. Smith, Green, and Harvey. Tho lists are incomplete.
