CASUALTIES.
FATAL ACCTOEXT AT BBALEY FLAT. On Fridnv night a fatal accident occurred in the tunnul at Bealey. AMiilst shift "bo.«;s" Fred Saul, aged Sβ, was assistin" in hauling up a rake of .trucks, one of tho air-hose pipes caught him and pinned him acainst tho truck. Ho only lingered a short time. He had only been married ten months.
INQUEST. The Coroner (Mr H. W. Bishop, &.M.) hold an inquest yesterday concerning the death of William Bennett, a bachelor. 70 years of ago. who it is alleged attempted to commit suicide at Lincoln on April 27th, and who died in ■tW Hospital on Saturday night. Dr. McDermott. bouse 6urgeon at the Ciiristchureh Hosnital pave evidence that the deceased when admitted to the" Hospital on April 27th was suffering from shock, , loss of blood, and a laiiio contused wound on right c*>oek tho latter evidently being inflicted by a firearm. He progressed favourably for several days, but on (Satnrdav'eveninc got worse, and died in the nisHt. A clot of blood having become dislorlced from the wound caused pu'monary embolism. The inouf.st was adjourned till 2 o'clock to-day for the production of witnesses from Lincoln.
