By the formal and official opening of the Canterbury Football Association's new ground, Association football in Canterbury enters upon what will be distinctively a now era. Henceforth, instead of being at the merer of chance and fate for securing an arena upon which to present to the public its most attractive representative and senior matches, tlio Association code, will have a home of its own. Strengthened by its independence, its prosperity will steadily increnso for, relieved of the necessity of hiring grounds, tho financial strength or tho code, will materially advance, ami the Centre bo placed in. that position ot ultimate afflueiu-o which will enable it to assUt tho yame directly and materially.
