MELBOURNE. April 2. A publican was fined 40* for posting a false report in front of his hotel that tho Runic had been torpedoed in tho Channel with the Australian troops aboard. Others were fined 20s for spreading tho report. These were the first prosecutions under the War Precautions Act.
