There wero 34,135 votes polled on Thursday in the Queen of the Harvest Festival* election, bringing tho grand total to 145,762. Tho positions now are:— Position. Candidate. 1. ... Xo. 10—Nurse Maude (Tramways),' green and cream. 2..... No. 11—Miss E. Allen (Waipara), palo blue and white. 3. ... Xo. I—Miss A. Bramley (N.Z. Farmers' Co-op.), red, hlack, and yellow. 4. ... No. 7—Miss C. Slevenson (Combined Pictures), red and black. 0. ... Xo. S—Miss M. Ivicol (Commercial Travellers), red and navy. G. ... Xo. 3—Miss L. French -Combined Factories), red, white, auJ blue. 7. ... No. G—Nurso M. A. Johnson (Red Cross and Nurses", red and white. 8. ... Xo. 2—Miss V. Cook (Combined Drapers), violet and white. 9. ... Xo. 9—Mrs R. O. Duncan (Sports), scarlet and gold. 10. ... No. 12—Miss D. Nottingham (Halswell), green and gold. 11. ... No. s—Miss O. Thorpe (Foreshores), black and yellow. 12. ... No. 4—Miss Elsie Masefic(Peninsula), dark green, yellow, and navy. Waipara's sensational jump from last to second place in two days, will causo considerable surprise to tho public. It is anticipated that during tho next few days many changes will_ take place. Tho New Zealand Farmers' Co-op. again displaced the Pictures candidate. Tho Combined Factories are evidently working together better. Their daily total is showing decided improvement. Although Halswell has not made much impression yet, they aro well within striking distance, and should tsoon improve their position. No returns havo yet come to hand from tho Peninsula. The only votes recorded are for tho sale of tickets in town.
