There arc good supplies of local fruit and vegetables, and a fair quantity of oranges, bananas, and pines coming to hand. Wholesale prices are:— Apple 3. dessert. 2-Jd, cooking, 2d; peaches. 2id to 2£d; plums, Hd to.2d per lb; pears, Us to 3s: oranges. 14s to los ; bananas, 14s to 15s ; pineapples, 9s to 10s 6d por case; strawberries, Is 6d per box. Cucumbers. 2d per lb: potatoes, 9s per. sack; cabbages,' 2s to 3s : cauliflowers, 3s to 3s 6d; carrots. 6d to 7d: turnips 7d to 8d; parsnips, 8d to 10d: rhubarb, 2s 6d per dozen; onions, Is 6d per cwt.
