At a meeting <t£ the New Brighton Surf B&tbia? Life-caving Ciub, held <m .meeday, it was decided to euppoxt the Brighton Biver Carnival os Saturday, March lSth. in aid of tie Bed Cross Fund. It waa, agreed to ask the East Christdnirch, Chnsteaurch, Sydenham, and Waltham Swimming Clubs if they could arrant:© to ewim their Xβepectiv* quarter-mil© handicaps in the river as part of the carnival. Officiate for the, Carnival were appointed, and a number of prizes ttct* promised.
