TERRIBLE MASSACRES.

(Receircd January 9th, 12.30 a.m.) LONDON. January S.
The Commission reports tiiat the most terrible 'massacre in Franco was that at Gorbevillers„ in the Vosges. on August 24th. Bavarians .burst into houses shooting and stabbin" regardless of a<r e or sex. Over four hundred houses were destroved'.and fifty people massacred in their homes. Jlany nameless offences were committed. Another horrible butchery occurred at Monienv, in the department of Meurthc-Moseile. Soldiers set fire to buildings where many ■ were hidden in the cellars, and these people were shot like rats as they emerged. Whole fato-liea were extcrmiaated.
