A correspondent, writing from Nairobi (East- Africa), thus describes the country through which tho enemy is forcing its way upon Uganda:—"lt is n desert-., covered with thorny scrub, so thick in places that officers are unable to control more than a dozen men. This wild country is infested with lions, jeopards, and the dreaded tsetso fly, and through it wo are now taking an active offensive. The campaign is likely to bo long and trying, for tho Germans will certainly defend their best country with all their might."
