INTER-SCHOOLS , FOURS. The Inter-Schools' Fours is causing a Lot of interest locally, and both the College and Pligh School crews have been hard at work for some time past, the meeting of tkese two rivals being anxiously awaited. Last December the race was rowed on the Avori in heats, but Collego and. High School, iniforunately, did not meet each other. On that occasion High School beat Wangamii Collegiate, and Waitaki defeated Christ's College, Waitaki beating Christchurch High School in the final. Locally, tho main interest is centred in the meeting of Chrvst s College and Christehiirch High School; and the race this year will be decided in one heat, the four crews being n aitaki High School (Oarnaru), Christ's College, Christchurch High School, and Wanganui Collegiate. Reports state that Waitaki and Wanganui are in hard training, and there is no doubt last year's winners will make a big bid 'to repeat their performance. Wanganui, who have a big reputation, defeat of last year to make up for. when they were iinexpectedly beaten by Christchurch High School. The latter have three of their last year's crew rowing in this year's contest, and are expected to make a creditable showing. Christ's College have been experimenting with a view t-o selecting the best crew, and only decided on Saturday m>oll the final selection, which does not give them Tory much time- to settle down together. They are a fairly stronc lot, and will make tho most of the next fortnight. The contest last year was in fixed scat fours", but tHs year it k to be on sliding seats.
