On and after Tuesday, Ist December, the North Island mails, per ferry steamer, will close at the Chief Post Office nt 6 p.m., and lato fee letters at C.30, instead of 6.15 and 6.45 respectively, aa at present. This alteration is iieeesoary owing to tho ferry train leaving Christchurch 15 minutes earlier than at present; also mails by the afternoon trains to Waikari and Oxford will close at 5.30 p.m. instead of 4.15 p.m., the train leaving Christchurch at 4.33 p.m. instead of at 5.20 p.m.
