6 THE HIGH COMMISSIuNERSHIP. (By Cable.—Press x__ .ociitio-n. —Copyris:-__) MELBOURNE. November 28. In the Houso of Representatives, the question of Sir George Reid's reappointment for one year was discussed. Statements made by Mr J. Cook and 'Mr ■ Glynn, showed that the Cook Cabinet had intended to extend Sir George Reid's term for three or five years, but the elections intervened. Mr Cook said that if the Liberal G-verninent had known that Sir George Reid was going to be treated in this manner, it -would have taken care to reappoint him High Commissioner before the dissolution.
