SHIPPING NOTES.
Upon arrival at Port Chalmers from Lyttelton .next Thursday the Union Company's steamer Tarawera is to ba docked for cleaning and painting. She is expected to b<? floated out the following day in order to sail in her time-table trip to . Lyttelton and northern ports. The- long rakoa of empty railway trucks standing on inoet of the wharves at 1/yttclton are indicative of the dearth of shipping at present.. Work was very clack on the wateriront yesterday, but it in expected that matters will take on a different aspect to-day and the remainder of the wook. The Jiaiapoi is expected to-day from Hobart direct with ealt and ■■gypsum irom Jidithburg.
