r A PRESBYTERIAN MINISTER KILLED. (press association telegbam.) WELLINGTON, November 9. The llev. E v C. Tennent, Presbyterian minister at Martinborough, was killed while motoring to Hinakura, seventeen miles from Martinborough, on Saturday afternoon. When he was driving alone the main road a few miles l'rom Hinakura, the car swerved into a ditch, and after proceeding for a few yards overturned, pinning tho reverend gentleman to tho ground. Sir Walter Buchanan, M.P., who was motoring along the same road, saw the accident, and went to the rescue and relieved Mr Tennent, who was seriously injured and died a few minutes later. Tho late Mr Tennent, who was formerly minister at Poi-t Chalmers, is survived by a wife and a grown-up family,

An inquest was held yesterday, beforo Mr H. W. Bishop, Coroner, on tho body of Emma. Laura Doubleday, aged twenty-four years, who died in a private hospital on Sunday nigjit. Dr. W. F. Browne, who conducted a postmortem examination, stated that all tho organs were healthy with the exception of tho brain. In the left ventricle at the anterior end was a small abscess. A vessel had burst apparently into tho abscess. Death, in witness's opinion, "was due to cerebral haemorrhage. A verdict was returned inglyA man named A. Kinsman, residing in Richmond terrace, was admitted to the hospital yesterday afternoon as tlio result "of a bicycle collision in Victoria, street, whereby he received scalp wounds and slight injuries to his back.

Deceased, accompanied by two other yoiins men. was driving 'down, a steep road when tho reins snapped. The horse became unmanageable*, and horse and trap went over tho bank. Smith was killed instantly, but the others escaped injury.
