SUMMARY AND FORECAST.
__• D. C. Bates supplied the following weather summary and forecast at 5 p.m. yesterday: — The barometer rose everywhere last night, but a slight fall has taken place to-day. Strong southerly winds have prevailed with cold and changeable weather; showers m most parts, and somo snow in tho south. Present indications are for "cold and changeable weather, heavy showers in parts, and snow on the higher levels in the south, winds variable but strong, couth to southeasterlies predominating; barometer unsteady, but with a rising tendency again shortly.
