Jor the purpose of raising funds to Imuidato _ a debt on the Sout_b'rid«--Tennis Ciub's pavilion, a most successful concert, was held in the Town Hall on Wednesday evening. Tho spatiii" accommodation in the hall was taxed to its utmost and the proceeds of the entertainment .-ill leave tho club with a credit b«lance after paving all its liabilities. The concert was given by a party of Christchurch performers, assisted by several local people. The items included .ones by Mesd.ime. W Joll. J Henry, and L. Andrews. Miss feadie Withers. _rd Messrs A. A. Scott J- W. A. Walker. W. J.oll, and C. iiiom. «on; nio. ologues hy Messrs H. C. Cornwtll and Sidney Brett: recitation, hv Mr C. J. Smith : hiehland dances hMisses Clare Mackintosh and Glady. Simr>son. and selections by the Southbridge Orchestra. At the conclusion of tho entertainment the performers and public iv.vo thanked on behalf of the club by tho Mr J. C. Free, who referred briefly to the rapid stride., tho chib had mad. and to the ,e~. - sitv for Living down a third court in tho near future. I
