THE PLUNKET NURSES.
In reply to Mr Reed as to whether tho Government would alter tho system of payment of subsidies to bronchos of tho Plunket Society and make tho payments in future direct to tho branches of tho Society instead of paying through the local Hospital and Charitabio Aid Boards, the Hon. Mr Rhodes replied that the matter was receiving favourable consideration.
PUBLIC WORKS OVERSEERS. In reply to a question in tho Houso to-day, tho Hon. Mr Fraser stated that as soon as tho mombor for Taumarunui had formulated his charges and given the names of the officers ho referred to, ho would instituto a searching enquiry into tho allegations made. Meantime -he must treat this statement as not proven.
