Considerably over £2000 has been subscribed, and appeals have been made to other. Hospital Boards in the island. Several replies have already been sent in. - The Stratford Board considered that the Government should take action and find the necessary funds for the Institute. New Plymouth express-d sympathy with the scheme, and the Coromandel Board, though in sympathy, with the object, said it could not see its way to a_Bi_t financially. Tho Wellington Board said it heartily supported the proposal, and suggested that a committee be formed to consider the matter involved. The Cook County Board notified that the matter was to receive further consideratioa.
