EXPOSURE BY CANON GARLAND.

The Anglican Synod greatly enjoyed the exposure by Canon Garland of Leaflet No. 7 of the Schools Defence League, which refer* to a circular issued on July 15th, 1900. to schoolteachers in New South Wales, as positive evidence of proselytising in schools. Canon Garland told the Synod that immediately he saw this leaflet he cabled ah follows to Sydney:—"Director of Education, Sydney. Statement published that Wilkin-?, secretary of Education Council, in July. 1900. issued a circular against the ministers proselytising in visiting classes. Please telegraph date of Wilkins'.s death, date of the circular referred to, and its purCanon Garland said that on July 7th, he received the following in reply:—"Mr Wilkins retired in 1884 and died in 1892.
