The Postmaster-General was asked by Mr Ell to-day. what the Government proposed to do in regard to making alterations to tho chief Christchurch Post Office. The Hon. 11. Hcaton Rhodes replied that it was proposed to mako oxtonsivo alterations to tho buildings, and that the Government architect had had the plans in hand for some time. Tho plans were now near completion. Ho did not feel inclined to make tho details of these plans public until they had been approved by Cabinet. He would furnish Mr Ell with full information later on.
