The a'minal mooting of- t,ho Ashburlon branch of the New Zealand Catholic Federation- was . largely attended. Dean O'Donnell presided. The annual wtatement ehowod the finances of tho branch to bo in a sound position, and that, as compared with tho preceding twelve- months, the re-, gistration of members had increased threefold. A strong sub-branch had also been established at Hinds. Dean O'Donnell and Mr 6. Madden were elected to represent the local branch at the annual meeting of the Diocesan Council. The election of officers for • the ensuing Tear resulted as follows: —Dean O'Donnell, and Messrs P. Bevane, T. Carney, N. Fitzgerald, F. J. Holley, MVJ. Moriarty, D. McDonald, S. Madden, W. J. Cunningham., and J. Hannigan.
