FEDERAL POLITICS.
THE OPPOSITION, POLICY. ANNOUNCED ~BY IHR >ISHEJJ. (By Cable.—Prees AeiocUtwn.—CopyriffW-) BRISBANE, July 7. Mr Andrew Fisher, speaking at Bundaberg, announced that the Federal Opposition policy favourod tho re-eub-mitting of the Referenda Bills as a qicans of securing industrial peace, and of dealing -with trusts, combines, arid monopolies, including tho Beef Trust, which, he declared, had already got a liold in Australia.
Other proposals wero for Stateowned oversea steamers and an Atlantic cable, national insuranco, the initiative and referendum, tho development of oversea markets, a. Commonwealth bank, a uniform railway gauge, the careful nursing of military and naval defence (but relentless opposition to borrowing for defence purposes), continuance of tho maternity bonus, tho provision of funds for the prevention and euro of cancer, consumption, and the "red plaguo."
Mr Fisher added:—"Wo fully favour reciprocal relations -with New Zealand, Canada, and the other Dominions, and ©very means being adopted to draw us closer together."
