M. Edwards is expected to leave Sydney for Cliristchurch shortly with the trotting horses Denver Huon, Dillon Bell, Belle Huon (a sister to Dillon Bell), Adelaide Direct, and Olive L, At tho Rosebery (Sydney) meeting on the 3rd inst., thirteen races were run off. The programme started at noon, and patrons of tho club wero back in tho city before 5 o'clock. This is an example that might very well be emulated by many clubs in New Zealand.
Tho New Zealand horseman T. Cahill rode tbe winner of the Steeplechase at Epsom (Vie), on the 3rd inst.
The best supporter of tho next Melbourne Cup, as far as number of entries is concerned, is Mr L. Robertson, whocontributea no fewer than seven to the big total. They comprise Ben; Phinens", Torbane, Lempriere, . Capricious, Don Reginaldofrand Hamburg Belle, and all are imported. Messrs Bailiieu are responsible for six of tho Melbourne Cup entrants, while among other liberal supporters of the race are Messrs E. Connolly, R. G. Casey, and E. E. D. Clarke, each with four entries. j
